Granny, 2016 is a posthumous reiteration of a 2014 installation which layered old photographs from my grandmother’s collection with images that I have taken of her. In this version, these photographs are layered with scans of both her handwriting and possessions. This overlap of images compares different periods of time, evoking the vastness of a human life. They are presented as loose pages of a book, suggesting the nature of a family photograph. These pages both act as mementos of her life and speak to the dynamic life of a photograph itself.
